I didn’t know what to give as a gift but, as you’re both using your lives to create a legacy, I thought a Vision Portrait might be fun. You may even find it relevant to your research on how we expand uncertainty tolerance. A Vision Portrait is a drawing made entirely of your own words - a self-reflection on your identity as an individual, a couple, as partners, parents and/or professionals. The portrait can capture the story of your love, your life and/or your future together - your purpose, dreams and aspirations. I find it fascinating & sometimes pretty amazing, to see what happens in people’s lives (and brains?) when they see their words looking back at them through their own eyes, helping them shift out of self-sabotage, into the vision they’ve articulated. It’s basically a vision board in your face!
